Black Kings Black Queens (BKBQ) Initiative
The BKBQ Movement is an initiative designed to bridge the gap between our Black men and women by unifying and strengthening ourselves in order to make greater impacts in society. This means promoting black excellence by reintroducing black love in its purest form and beauty. It is unfortunate that within our culture, both men and women alike have experienced heartbreak, deceptive and abusive behaviours and abandonment. These experiences create rippling emotional and psychological effects that when infiltrated through society eventually become irreversible stereotypes. Being mindful of this fact, we want the BKBQ Movement to be an aggressive and responsive call to action. This movement will work to dismantle stereotypes within ourselves and society by first instilling confidence and strength in our kings & queens, and creating a safe space for networking opportunities to effectively build, empower, encourage, heal and grow our culture as a unified body. Our ultimate goal as an organization is to build our black men and women as stronger, better individuals that will become increasingly active contributors not only to our physical and emotional wellbeing, but to our families, our direct social circles and the communities in which we live.
